This four acre semi-mature cultivated woodland walk garden was created from a field surrounded by mature trees. There was a strong emphasis on maintaining the right habitat for existing wildlife and to make sure that it would integrate with the other garden areas.  Around each corner there is a focus, be it a beautiful multi-stemmed specimen tree, an urn set amongst the planting or a bench on which to rest and contemplate. The trees are a mix of ornamental and native varieties, all have been chosen because they have something to offer through the seasons, be it blossom, peeling bark, leaf colour or berries for the birds. The planting is a mix of evergreen and deciduous shrubs, creating both a vertical and horizontal emphasis with texture and depth, underplanted with herbaceous perennials, ground cover and bulbs - which once established will keep maintenance levels low.
